Sophias Bug Spray Update: November 2022.

Sophia’s Bug Potion Fight the Bite!!! was named a semifinalist in the Boise Entrepreneur Week Pitch Competition. However, we were not selected to proceed to the finals.

In order to make our product widely available to consumers who want to protect themselves from mosquitoes and the many diseases they carry, we will create a Kickstarter campaign to aid with costs associated with FIFRA 25(b) certification from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Also known as, EPA 25b certification, the designation allows us to sell Sophie’s Bug Potion as “little to no risk” to humans and the environment. Our product is an all-natural blend of essential oils and water that repels mosquitoes and other pesky insects. It smells great, too.

SOPHIA’S STORY

After moving to the Caribbean, we learned the value of protecting ourselves from mosquitoes that carried diseases. The biggest dilemma was how much bug repellent we had to use on our 8 year old daughter. We had no idea what the long term use of these chemicals could do to our health. Three years later we have many more mosquito spread viruses to worry about. It became my “mission” to create a safer alternative bug repellent, that not only is effective but also smells good.
